Cookie Policy

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how GapperLab (the "Platform") uses cookies and similar browser storage. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Cookies are small files or storage entries that a website or a service it uses may place in your browser.

2. What we use

We keep this deliberately minimal. We use what is strictly necessary to run the service, analytics and advertising cookies that only run if you accept them, third-party cookies that are set when you actively use a feature (Google sign-in, Stripe checkout), and one content embed on our public landing page (TradingView).

  • Essential, authentication (first-party): a JSON Web Token (JWT) stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. It expires automatically and is never used for tracking. Clearing it simply logs you out.
  • Essential, cookie choice (first-party): a single entry in your browser's local storage recording whether you accepted or rejected the cookies below, so we stop asking on every page. It contains nothing else and is not used to identify you.
  • Analytics, Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): cookies that measure how the site is used (pages viewed, sessions, approximate location, device) so we can see what works. These run only if you accept.
  • Advertising, Google Signals and remarketing (Google LLC): with Google Signals enabled, Google may combine the analytics above with the data of signed-in Google users who turned on Ads Personalization, and our pages may load a Google remarketing pixel so we can show GapperLab ads to people who visited the site. This is advertising and profiling, and it runs only if you accept.
  • Google Sign-In (Google LLC): cookies set by Google only if you click "Sign in / Sign up with Google". The Google script is loaded on demand on the login and registration pages only, not elsewhere.
  • Stripe (Stripe, Inc.): cookies set by Stripe during checkout to process your payment securely and to help prevent fraud.
  • TradingView (TradingView, Inc.): our public landing page embeds a live TradingView chart to demonstrate the product. When the landing page loads, this embed may set TradingView's own cookies. You can prevent or remove them through your browser settings.

3. Consent

The analytics and advertising cookies described above require your consent, and we ask for it before they run. On your first visit a small notice appears with two equally available options, Accept and Reject. Until you choose one, Google's four consent signals for analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation all stay denied, so no analytics or advertising cookies are written. We do not use cookie walls, and we do not treat continued browsing as consent: doing nothing leaves everything denied.

The cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service, and those set when you actively use a feature (Google sign-in, Stripe checkout), do not require your consent. The TradingView chart embedded on our public landing page may also set TradingView's own cookies when that page loads; it is a product demonstration only, and you can prevent or remove those through your browser settings.

You can change your mind at any time:

4. Managing cookies

The button above is the quickest route: rejecting there switches Google's consent signals back to denied for future visits. Beyond that, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can clear your local storage at any time (note: clearing it will sign you out, and it also erases your cookie choice, so we will ask again). You can also manage cookies set by Google or Stripe directly through those providers.

5. Third-party providers
